“Place and Planet” is the inaugural theme of the I-Hum Project and will run from the fall 2021 until the spring 2024. The scholarship, programming and teaching on this theme is designed by the four interdisciplinary faculty leaders, [Bruno Carvalho](/people/bruno-carvalho-0 "Bruno Carvalho"), [Joyce Chaplin](/people/joyce-chaplin "Joyce Chaplin"), [Sarah Dimick](/people/sarah-dimick-0 "Sarah Dimick"), and [Tiya Miles](/people/tiya-miles "Tiya Miles"). The spring semester course in the [Undergraduate Scholars Initiative](/undergraduate-scholars-initiative "Undergraduate Scholars Initiative") connects students to the research of these faculty leaders, who co-teach “HUM 93 Mahindra Scholars Lab: Place and Planet.” Each year, the Mahindra Humanities Center provides fellowships for [postdocs](/get-involved/postdoc "Postdoctoral Fellows") and[ graduate students](/get-involved/graduate "Graduate Students") interested in pursuing research that relates to the theme “Place and Planet.”
